LEDGER BINDING
Course Content
The art of bookbinding directly onto soft leather without another cover. In the class we will work on creating paper issues, handling the leather (marking, cutting, dyeing with impregnation dyes, coke polishing) as well as sewing the issues directly onto the leather cover with decorative stitching. At the end of the course, each participant will have made a personal leather notebook

WESTERN TYPE
Course Content
Western-style binding with grain and hardcover: book stitching technique with "bumps" on the spine. Classic headband with bead (headband with bead) sewn with colored threads. Wooden signs with leather lining. At the same time, the technique of marble painting is applied to create a decorative cover

CASE BINDING
Course Content
The art of bookbinding with leather, fabric or paper lining and hard cover with traditional cutting book stitching technique. Introduction to Headboard Stitching: Their Role in the Book. French double headband sewn with colored threads.
Stiff Board Plates: Binding Them to the Book and Covering them with Leather, Cloth or Cardboard. At the same time, the technique of marble painting is applied to create a decorative cover

UNCOVERED ROW
Course Content
The spineless technique refers to binding with a leather, cloth or paper cover, a hard cover and an uncovered spine to show the book's decorative stitching. Coptic headband without core (coptic headband) sewn with colored thread.

School facilities:The faculty provides basic materials used in the course. The student is asked to procure a basic set of tools & materials that will be indicated by the faculty during registration.
