The term plastic arts refers to art forms that involve the physical manipulation of a plastic medium by molding, casting, or modeling, such as sculpture and ceramics. .

At Askardamykti, there are departments for both ceramics and sculpture, with clay as the main material for experimentation.

In the sculpture department, the possibility of experimenting with other materials such as paper, wire or recyclable materials is given. Both arts give great expressive freedom to the creator. While they have many common points such as the material, the techniques applied differ and many times one art needs the other to achieve the desired result.

In ceramic art, works require firing in order for the clay to acquire the necessary strength and are usually utilitarian in nature. Sculpture, on the other hand, is considered a visual art, while clay works usually form the basis on which a plaster mold is created for the casting of plaster that will constitute the final material of the work.

The plastic arts sector includes annual courses as well as smaller, independent seminars.
