with Vasiliki Sofianou
Weaving is one of the most ancient arts that connects matter with rhythm, patience and creation.
In Vasiliki Sofianou 's seminar, weaving is transformed into personal expression, through five independent modules – from a boho bracelet to the creation of a bag.
Participants learn step-by-step how to prepare the loom, basic Navajo techniques, and kilim weaving, developing their skills through completed projects. The goal throughout the course is to experiment with projects of different sizes and a variety of yarns.
Each cycle is autonomous and self-contained and culminates in a complete work – handmade, personal and completely unique.
IMPORTANT :
You will take the frame you will work on with you to continue your creations at home. After completing each cycle, the student has the option to purchase their frame or return it to the school.
The cost includes materials in basic qualities and shades to serve the educational process for specific designs and dimensions. The student always has the option to purchase other materials of his choice.
COURSES

Boho Bracelet & Ring
The introduction to the world of weaving begins with a small, but essential project: the creation of a boho style bracelet and ring set .
In this module, participants learn about the loom and the basic principles of weaving, learning how the color and rhythm of the thread can be transformed into a unique piece of personal style. The result is a handmade bracelet that combines the simplicity of the technique with the power of the design.
Seminar Details:
Duration : 3 three-hour sessions
Technique : Simple loom weaving, basic warp placement, choice of color combinations
What you will take with you upon completing the seminar : A woven bracelet with a magnetic clasp and a matching ring

Woven Striped Pillow
The second section focuses on the rhythm of stripes and the color combinations that create movement.
Participants practice using the loom with larger-scale warps and the technique of horizontal and vertical stripes, inspired by traditional Navajo motifs.
The result is a warm, colorful woven fabric that transforms into a pillowcase — a creation that brings the art of weaving into the space.
Seminar Details:
Duration : 5 three-hour sessions
Technique : Combination of horizontal and vertical stripes, Navajo alternations
What you will take with you upon completing the seminar : A handmade pillowcase (without filling or zipper), a sample of textile composition

Clutch Bag
From the loom to everyday style — the third section leads to the creation of a woven clutch with an emphasis on structure and finish.
The technique includes vertical stripes, kilim bases and fringe decoration, offering a complete experience from preparation to aesthetic completion.
The work exudes naturalness, with jute and cotton combined in a simple, timeless bag.
Seminar Details:
Duration : 4 three-hour sessions
Technique : Plain weave, kilim principles, fringes, warp placement
What you will take with you upon completing the seminar : A handmade zippered clutch bag — the result of technical and aesthetic balance

Jewel Necklace
Weaving is transformed into jewelry through the creation of a unique woven necklace.
This module combines design precision with artistic freedom, as participants trace their pattern on millimeter paper and transfer it to the frame using the hole-punch technique.
The process requires concentration and rhythm, leading to an elegant and geometric result.
Seminar Details:
Duration : 5 three-hour sessions
Technique : Kilim weaving with holes, imprinting of the design on millimetre paper
What will you take with you upon completing the seminar :
A woven necklace with a geometric design and unique color identity

Tote Bag
The final section is the natural progression of the previous ones.
Here, participants apply what they learned on a larger scale, creating a woven bag with a sturdy structure and clean lines.
The technique of kilims without holes and the choice of woolen or cotton threads highlight the strength and elegance of handmade weaving.
The project is completed with a lining (by a seamstress), creating a functional, everyday object with the stamp of its creator.
Seminar Details:
Duration : 7 three-hour sessions
Technique : Kilims without holes, composition on a large surface with a geometric pattern
