Woodworking Workshop - Workbench
The seminar will provide you with the tools to take your first steps in woodworking, such as basic knowledge about wood grades, hand tools and woodworking machines that you can easily and affordably add to your collection, and basic woodworking techniques. Together we will build a woodworking bench in dimensions that can be placed in a residential space.

What does the Workshop include?
Theoretical part
Wood & other materials technology: In the theoretical part of the program we will learn about the different types of wood, their technical and macroscopic characteristics so that we can choose the right wood depending on the application. We will also talk about engineered wood (osb, plywood, particleboard, etc.) as well as auxiliary materials such as glues, varnishes, etc.
Introduction to hand tools and woodworking machines: The hand tools used in carpentry will be presented in detail and woodworking machines (bandsaws, planers, cutting discs, etc.) will be presented and explained. We will see which of these machines you can easily and affordably acquire for your own workshop.
Laboratory part
Construction of a woodworking bench: Participants will be divided into work groups and will construct a woodworking bench. We will start by analyzing and understanding the technical drawings of the bench. Then, all students will participate in the individual preparation and assembly tasks in order to become familiar with the use of tools and machines as well as the steps of construction. At the end of the lesson, the students will have completed a workbench together. At the end of the seminar, the bench drawings as well as lists of tools, materials and suppliers will be shared with everyone so that you can construct the same bench in your space and set up your own woodworking workshop!
