What does the Workshop include?
A two-day workshop dedicated to sustainable creativity. Yarn dyes from plants, fruits and wood bark (vegetable dyes), unique prints from plant flowers. A celebration centered on nature and its colors. Come equipped with your notebooks because teacher Elisavet Rodopoulou has lots and lots of information to share with you.
Vegetable Yarn Dyes
Which plant raw materials leave more intense pigments. What color should I expect approximately depending on the raw material I will use (onion leaves, turmeric, walnut shells, etc.). What material should I add to make my color more stable? What materials can I dye with this technique (yarn, fabrics, etc.). What materials and tools will I need and what is the dyeing process. An experiential presentation accompanied by a demonstration of techniques, discussion and exchange of ideas.
Eco Printing - Bundle Dyeing
Printing plants on fabric gives a unique result every time. Depending on the plants used (leaves, flowers, etc.) the result will vary in shade, size and shape. Learn the entire process of eco printing for environmentally friendly creations utilizing the unique properties of flowers.
Laboratory part
It's time to get creative... and get to grips with the techniques, colors and raw materials (cotton, silk, linen, thread, fabric) as well as the bundle dyeing technique with which we create incredible prints using plant flowers.
